My name is Zixin Wang, I am currently a graduate student at INTO George Mason University and study in Accounting Pathway program. Now, I want to apply to be an accounting graduate student in Business school at George Mason University to obtain my master degree.

Accounting is full of my life, because my mother is an accountant too. I have a deep impression on my mother’s work when I was a child. My mother always works in front of the computer and many papers. Although she often works overtime and has less time to stay with me, I still feel that she enjoys this job. I consider why I have this feeling is because when she talking about her job she is excited to introduce everything you want to know. Otherwise, I also have a really impressed memory with her speaking, she said the excel is like a timeless and interesting game for her, it is not a job, a mission, she just is immersed in it. All of the words she described with accounting are attracting me. I cannot image what kind of thing is absorbing like accounting for my mother. As the result, I hope I could have the same feeling and enjoy a job like her too. Hence, I chose Financial Management as my undergraduate major to learn accounting and related knowledge. However, I believe that my academic knowledge is too plain and wide, so I desire to have a deep understanding with graduate accounting study.

I graduated from Tourism college of Beijing Union University in Financial Management major with a bachelor degree. Therefore, I am not only studying many professional skills, but also many knowledge about travel and tourism management which I am really interested in. With this reason, I chose “The Analysis of International Tourism Enterprises’ International Financing” as my graduation thesis theme. Nevertheless, when I studied with this research, I felt I have many problems and consider that I should continue to learn more and deep discipline knowledge about accounting to enlarge my repository. In the meantime, it is also the reason why I choose Business school at George Mason University. Due to the fact that I am not good at English speaking, and the English as a global lingua franca would offer many benefits not only for my job but also my life like I can commutate English when I travelling, so I thought study in America is the best way to enhance my English and discipline knowledge. United State as one of the countries which have best accounting education is the greatest choice for me. Then, I began to search the school and found this school George Mason University. I think GMU suits me best, because GMU has passed AACSB authentication and two professors obtained Nobel Prize in economics, both of them could prove GMU has a strong teaching team. Moreover, I love the location of the GMU. I born and life in Beijing which have the similar weather with Fairfax. In summary, George Mason University is the best choice for me to gain the insight into academic accounting.

In addition, I also have done many prior preparations for my graduate study. For example, I took part in many club activities in my undergraduate life like the liaison department which helped me to improve my ability to communicate with different strangers. I also have two years’ full-time work experience. Due to the fact that we have to take the internship during the third undergraduate year. Thus, I went to the Sino-Union Trust Co., Ltd and worked as a Risk assessment, after that I became a regular worker in the same company. The Sino-Union Trust company is a top 10 Chinese private trust enterprise, it has 1 billion RMB registered capital. In this company, the main job for me is to deal with the due diligence, data analysis, and other financial statement issues. In this job, I have read many financial statements and the other financial information to analyze a company. Therefore, I hope to study with specialization area of the audit with my graduate academic study.

In the future, I still want to study more and deeply professional knowledge and skills in the accounting area. Hence, I believe that I have enough capability to be a good accounting graduate student. I would love to apply and further develop my accounting skills while making a positive contribution at George Mason University. After I graduated, I hope I can find an internship in America to enrich my work experience. Moreover, I will go back to China to work. This work could be about P2P investment, although this area is not completed now, I believe it has a broad prospect.
